Machinist

We are currently recruiting for a Machinist. We are looking for an enthusiastic and ambitious person who has the ability to work unsupervised and manage their own time in an effective manner whether working alone or as part of our team.

Knowledge, Skills & Personal Requirements

Good communications skills.
Experience in operating drumsander, morticer, spindle, surface planer & six cutter.
Ability to read & interpret drawings & measurements.

Overall Purpose of Job

To machine timber to specifications required in a safe and cost effective manner

Primary Responsibilities

To ensure a safe working environment.
To be familiar with & adhere to all Health and Safety regulations.
To wear protective equipment provided.
To machine timber as per drawings in a safe and cost effective manner.
To check machines before operating & report any faults.
To ensure machine maintenance is carried out when necessary.
To keep machine & surrounding areas clean & free from waste.
To complete daily log on machine.
To undertake any other duties appropriate to the post delegated by the manager or directors.

Additional Requirements

To undertake training if thought necessary by the factory manager.
To impart knowledge and training to other employees where necessary.
