With 40 years’ experience working within the hospitality industry, it should come as no surprise that we have recently completed our fourth Clayton Hotel project. Having first been awarded the fitted furniture package for Ballsbridge back in 2018, we have since gone on to supply specialist joinery for Cardiff Lane, Dublin; Red Bean Roastery, Dublin and most recently the Clayton Hotel, Cork.
Liaising closely with Douglas Wallace Architects, we worked on the public areas of the hotels and cafe. It was important that the design and joinery work reflected the Clayton Hotel brand with modern and colourful hotel foyers. The staircase at Cardiff Lane, which incorporates timber, glass and metalworks is just one of the showpieces in the fabulous reception area. As guests walk through the modern and colourful hotel foyer Truwood’s impressive work is very visible. A strong emphasis was placed on high quality craftmanship by the design team and Truwood fulfilled their expectations.
When working with a lot of third parties, project management is vitally important here at Truwood. We worked closely with contractors: Monami (Ballsbridge & Cardiff Lane), Parson (Charlemont) & Tricon (Cork). The projects were all completed within a live hotel environment, and were delivered on time and within budget. Aside from working with all timber species and sheet materials, many of our finished products include a wide spectrum of materials including solid surfacing, marble, stone, metalworks, glass and upholstery.
“We are delighted to have been awarded, not only one but four projects with Clayton Hotels. Our team work very closely with the designers to ensure that their vision and concepts become reality. We also work very closely with the contractors which ensures the projects run smoothly. The level of repeat business, from not only Clayton but many other companies, is testimony to our standing as a progressive, innovative business providing a professional approach on every project.”
“Truwood were very professional and responsive throughout the project and were a key part of the team on a very successful project. They are at the top of the specialist joinery game, and we look forward to working alongside them again in the near future.”
